WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT

As a young woman I had a few dreams ......

to have a family of my own, to love and cherish

                                                               to own a campervan

And...... to go one day to India to help less fortunate  women and children

AND NOW THANKS TO YOUR HELP

THIS DREAM COULD COME TRUE

As some of you know, life has not always been easy for us,
but yet so much easier than many people in this world. When times are financially tight for us and I cannot give my girls what they would deserve, I always point out that as women we are so fortunate to have been born here and that we have a roof, some warm food and all we need really. But there is not much I can spare and for me going to India had become but a dream.

WHY INDIA? WILL YOU SAY

Well, it is a country which has always fascinated me. I read many  books (novels, legends...) about it, watched movies and documentaries ... I admire people such as Mother Theresa and Gandhi who did so much to help....

Last Sunday morning, in my church bulletin I could not help but notice this paragraph

MISSION  Plans are being made to take a team to Delhi in 2014, to support the ongoing work of Asha, a Christian organisation, seeking to serve the poor through medical help and education.  The proposed date for the work team is October 4 – 18. We would like to tackle 2 or 3 different types of project while there, working among the slum communities in Delhi. We plan to do some building work and also work with children’s/women’s groups.  Building work: repair/rebuild one or two homes for needy people. The clinics need work done to try to prevent flood damage and repair of a leaking roof. We will need some skilled people as well as those willing to labour. Children’s work: Those who work with the children will use craft activities, games, bible stories etc. to teach English to the children, also older children and students, computer work etc.  Women’s groups: Women in the slums meet for prayer and bible teaching. We stay in a small hotel and travel to the slum daily. The cost of the trip will be £1000 - £1200 per person, depending on flights. This covers everything apart from daily spending money on food (say another £200). We would not normally take anyone under 18, unless accompanied by a parent.  Anyone who is interested, please get in touch ASAP. We will meet in March to firm up the team and book flights. We usually have 4 team planning meetings. We would need visas sorted by June, so that passports were back for the summer. Please contact Daniel or Gareth Williams directly on 07729119314 or 02825656468.

Here I was, sitting and thinking, and the more I thought about it,  the more I believed that it was my chance to go, to help others, to fulfil an other of my dreams. But being realistic I knew that I would have to fundraise all the money and probably more for the vaccines, the visas etc....
I could barely sleep for 2 nights and I made a list  of thing I could do to raise money, and you know what? I believe I can do it. So now I need the support of all of you, as little or as much that you can help You can donate, take part in the various things I have in store for you and even help me in some ventures

Because there is never too little one can do!
